Systemic Change :: Systematic Systemic Essays

systemic ChangeWhat Is It To fully understand Systemic Change, whizz must first be able to distinguish systemic from systematic. The term systematic often is associated with images of a linear, generalizable model of how to do something. Systemic on the other(a) hand implies a global conception of the problem and an understanding of the interrelationships and interconnections. (Carr 1996). The systemic perspective in instructional design is traditionall(a)y limited to feedback via needs sound judgement or evaluation. The systematic perspective in instructional design, however, is strongly represented in a variety of step-by-step models. (Carr 1996) Systemic thinking requires keeping many aspects of the problem set in your head at one time. It is a community activity, not an individual one, with all the requisite challenges of any group task. Systemic thinking demands persistence, because to think systemically means to constantly reflect back to previous assumptions, and to be flexible enough to mixed bag thinking that has been agreed upon previously. (Reigeluth, Garfinkle 1994). Using a systemic view, we develop ways of finding step up about the mass of inter-relationships which exist between the different components of systems as well as finding out about the components themselves and we have to find out about the relationships which exist between the whole system and the environment in which it exists. (Bateson, 1979 Bawden 1991, Carr 1996) in that respect are two types of change. There is piecemeal change, often called tinkering, which entails modifying something (fixing a part of it) and there is systemic change, often called paradigm shift, which entails replacing the whole thing. Reigeluth, Garfinkle 1994). Systemic change is comprehensive. It recognizes that a fundamental change in one aspect of a system requires fundamental changes in other aspects in order for it to be successful. In education, it must pervade all levels of the system classroom, building, district, community, state government and federal government. And it must include the nature of the learning experiences, the administrative system that supports the instructional system, and the governance system that governs the whole educational system (Banathy, 1991, Reigeluth, Garfinkle 1994). Systemic change is needed because of the paradigm shift that is occurring in education due to the information age. Although this paradigm shift in education is and a microcosm of the changes in society as a whole, these changes in society is making the current educational system obsolete.

Is the System Awash? :: essays research papers fc

Is the System Awash? Most Americans are unaware of the problems of the poor, it is hard to imagine the challenges of poverty, the daily fears of victimization or the frustration of not being satisfactory to provide for a child. These central ideas along with many others have plagued the United States economy for most of its history. What do we do with the poor? Who are they and what can we do to help them? Well the answer is a mix between personity with a strong relativity to the central government. It is hither that we find our argument and it is here that we find ourselves at bay with many sensitive subjects. I believe that it is the governments responsibility to provide for the nation, but it is up to the individual whom is habituated to, to make a difference with what is given to them. With such problems as minimum wage, unemployment and little to no affordable housing it is hard for the poverty stricken individual to gain some if any ground at all in their quest to rise up out of the bonds of destitution. There needs to be a battle plan if you will to attack this issue of poverty head on. It is here that my plan comes into effect. Many propose simply giving them some mixture of aid in food or money and being done with it, what I propose is that you give a little and they take it much except than what was originally thought possible. It is not simply the act of supporting them for the rest of their lives, it is the act of providing a strong foundation for which they can build upon. An outstanding citation from a man by the name of William McDonough states (chair of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York), Issues of equity and social cohesion are issues that affect the very record of the country. We are forced to face the question of whether we will be able to go forward together as a unified society with a confident outlook or as a society of diverse economic groups suspicious of both the future and each other.(Collins, Leondar and Sklar 280) In a enor mous view the general public knows not of the hardships that a part of the country goes through each day. I had the opportunity to go to college in Kentucky my first family of schooling.

Judgment Time :: Personal Narrative Essay

Judgment Time   Congratulations, you have a new baby boy my child-development teacher said as she handed over the 10-pound bundle.   brave year in my naughty school child-development class, each student had to take the Think-It-Over baby home for a night to get a taste of parenthood. horizontal before I received the baby, I knew I was not ready to be a parent as a senior in high school. I could still remember when my brother and sister were little and I would have to take care of them all the time. At least the doll had no dirty diapers I would have to change.   It was a Friday night when my turn came to take the 10-pound plastic doll home. The doll really did look like a confront baby from a distance. It even had a pleasant baby powder smell. After I took the baby home in his car seat, I changed him into about really cute clothing because my friends and I were going out that night. I then discrete to name him Tyler.   Inside the body of this doll was a comput ing machine that was programmed to make periodic crying sounds. I was the only person who could stop the crying because I had the key. This key, tied to my wrist, could be inserted in the dolls back to stop the crying. So far, so good. The doll had not cried, yet.   My friends came over, and we all piled into the car. It was kind of squished because we had the babys seat in there, too. I had to treat the doll like a real baby because the data processor inside also measured any abuse to the doll, such as shaking or neglect. The hour-long drive to the restaurant was uneventful. It was rather chilly, so I decided to wrap Tyler in a blanket and carry him in that way. I also had a diaper bag with diapers, a bottle, and an extra set of clothes hanging on my arm.   Because it was Friday night, there were a lot of people waiting in line to get a table. When I walked into that crowded entryway, I got more or less very weird looks and quite a few raised eyebrows. My friends also not iced the glares and stares, so we decided to make a game out of the only situation. I stood in the corner pretending to rock Tyler to sleep.
